China Springs, NV ride area
China Springs is located approximately 25 miles south of Carson City.
Directions:
The China Springs Recreation Area is accessed from 395.
To access from 395:
- Starting from the Ranger Station in Carson City, follow 395 South for approximately 25 miles. You will pass the Fish Hatchery.
- Once past the Hatchery, begin looking for the green sign on the right side of the road: "China Springs Facility."
- Turn right on the 690 Road.
- Follow the 690 down about 2/10 of a mile. You will see a large turnout area on your right.
- The 690 continues to the right. A Forest Service sign marks this intersection point.
OHV Opportunities:
China Springs contains 17 miles of roads for the OHV enthusiast. Roads ratings range from easy to difficult, but the 690 going into the recreation area is a rough, rocky and steep road. Only 4x4s, ATVs and Motorcycles should attempt this road.
Camping:
China Spring offers numerous dispersed camping sites; many near the river.
